- Clinical psychologist (BDP/DGPs), psychoanalyst (DGAP), group analyst and art psychologist. Further training in Katathymic-Imaginative Psychotherapy (KIP), clinical hypnosis and positive psychotherapy.
- 1992: PhD on ‘Sigmund Freud and Michelangelo’s Moses’ at the University of Bremen.
- 2016: Habilitation in art therapy and applied art psychology within the field of psychotherapy science at the SFU Vienna.
- 1986–1999: Worked as a psychologist in social psychiatry and as a research assistant.
- Since 1999, he has been practising as a psychological psychotherapist in a health insurance-funded practice in Celle.
- 1997–2004: Lecturer at the University of Bremen. Since 2003: Co-director of psychotherapy training at the INITA Institute, Hanover.
- Supervisor and training therapist for psychodynamic psychotherapy. Authorised to provide further training in depth psychology, analytical therapy and hypnosis by the Lower Saxony Medical Association. Assessor for psychotherapy (KBV). Member of the General Assembly of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Psychologists. First Chair of the German Society for Art Therapy (DGKT) and co-editor of the journal *Music, Dance and Art Therapy*. Served for several years as Chair of the Lower Saxony branch of the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP).

Head of the Department of Psychotherapy Science and the Psychotherapy Training Institute (overall management of the Training Institute & Continuing Education Centre SFU Berlin GbR) in a co-directorship with Prof. Dr Franzen.
Kathy Reboly was the founding director of Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin from October 2013 to December 2023. In 2010, she was licensed as a psychological psychotherapist (specialising in TP & PA) and obtained her PhD in 2016 on the academisation of psychotherapy at the SFU Vienna. In 2018, she was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychotherapy Science; she completed the final evaluation of her tenure track to become an Associate Professor in July 2025. In 2024/25, she was co-opted as Vice-Dean for University Psychotherapy at the Faculty of Psychotherapy Science Vienna-Berlin.
